Awareness
Notice your surroundings, recognize when a situation changes, and know where to turn for help.
Our story · Founded in 2019
Raising Tactical Daughters began with a father thinking about the world his first daughter would grow up in, and what he could do to prepare her.
When Kevin M. Coles became a father, preparation became personal. He wanted his daughter to grow up strong, aware, and confident enough to make her own decisions.
In 2019, he started Raising Tactical Daughters in Peoria, Arizona. An Instagram account and a few shirts became a way for other families to share that belief.
The shield traveled with the people who wore it: parents, first responders, community members, and service members overseas.
Proceeds supported in-person and online training for women, focused on awareness and preparation, including the prevention of domestic violence and human trafficking. Kevin M. Coles never took a paycheck.

The belief behind the shield
Notice your surroundings, recognize when a situation changes, and know where to turn for help.
Talk through decisions before they become urgent. Practice the words, the choices, and the plan.
Know that your boundaries matter, your voice belongs in the conversation, and you can ask for support.
The first daughter inspired RTD. Becoming a father to a second daughter gave Kevin M. Coles another reason to keep that responsibility close.
The goal is to help daughters build lives of their own: friendships, travel, work, relationships, and the judgment to make decisions without a parent standing beside them.
That belief now has a practical home in Raising Her Ready: a complete online guide and a free companion workbook for fathers and daughters to use together.
